A Steady Rain
Written by Keith Huff

Directed by Malinda Beckham Cone

Two Chicago police officers' years-long bond starts to unravel after a routine investigation leads to the death of a young boy. Loosely based on an actual incident involving serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, it explores issues of loyalty, betrayal, friendship, and honor, as one of the cops has to take the blame for the boy’s death when the truth of what happened is eventually revealed.

A Steady Rain features an original score by Hescher performed live on stage during the play. The self-described “cinematic pop musician and performer” was co-creator of Houston’s experimental rock band The Manichean, which performed its album Lovers at the Alley Theatre in 2012 and 2013.
